Welcome back to all our families, staff and incredible community of supporters. I hope that your Rosh Hashanah holiday provided you time for celebrating with your loved ones, reflecting on the year that has past, and envisioning of an exciting year ahead. Kol Hakavod to Debbie M., Cara, Mihal and Rabbi Emily for engaging our school with a heartwarming Rosh Hashanah program last Friday and an afternoon filled with song, blessings, creativity, and mitzvot, capped with a sunny afternoon enjoying fresh apples and honey!
I spent these introspective days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur relishing the sunshine and tranquility of my backyard, doing some late summer gardening, and reflecting on the outpouring of support for me – and for our incredible school – that we have received in my short tenure. I am thrilled to be leading SJCS this year and into an even more successful 2019-2020 school year, as we build on our foundation creating a solid future for SJCS for many years to come.
Over Tuesday I thought deeply about our next two years ahead, about all that I hope to accomplish; I imagined your voices, your thoughts in a conversation together with mine. We all recognize that we have hard work ahead of us, but our shared commitment to creating the best possible educational experience for your children, and for those families who will join us in the years to follow, makes me confident that we will reach – and surpass – our goals! I ended my break feeling so grateful for all of you as we continue this journey together. Here’s to a healthy, happy and productive New Year.
