“Bring a Friend to School” Day

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, November 11, we are hosting a new event here at SJCS: “Bring a Friend to School” Day. On this day, students in grades 1-5 are invited to bring a friend to spend the day here at SJCS. If your child has friends from synagogue, camp, sports teams or the neighborhood, this is a great opportunity for them to show off a bit of what we do each day!

Why are we doing this? Public schools are closed on this day for Veteran’s Day and, in addition to helping out some parents in need, this is a great opportunity to introduce our school to the wider community. Should you only invite students you think might come to SJCS? No! Every action creates a ripple and any positive experience can engender good feelings (and good word-of-mouth) about our school. Your child is encouraged to invite any friend with whom they would enjoy spending the day.

Of course, we do need your help getting the word out! Following is some information about the day as well as a flier and permission slip you can share with friends. Stefanie Somers is the parent-energy behind this event and she and I are both more than willing to help with any questions.
