Auction Bidding Rules

By participating in SJCS’s Live Auction, event sign-ups, raffles and other Auction & Celebration opportunities, each bidder agrees to these auction rules:

All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. Please check event dates carefully. SJCS cannot refund your purchase price if you later discover you cannot make the date advertised.

All items are “as is.” SJCS has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

The auction item value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution, with the exception of raffles, event sign-ups and items valued “Priceless.” Please consult your tax adviser to clarify amount of deduction.

Restaurant certificates do not include alcohol, tax, or gratuities unless specified.

Unless arrangements have been made with an SJCS staff member, payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction. SJCS accepts cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Unless otherwise indicated, all items and services must be used within one year from the date of the auction. Specific dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the donor and the buyer.

All items should be claimed by the end of the evening, unless otherwise specified. Items not claimed will be available for pick up at SJCS during school hours beginning the Tuesday after the Auction. SJCS reserves the right to discard any items remaining at the end of the current school year.
